This month I reduced my working hours to 32 with the intention of making more time for some of my personal projects.
I've decided to use this time to schedule some time to practice music, work on some of the apps I'm creating as part of tranquil systems, do chores in the house, and write some more (whether it's fiction, technical writing or something smaller like this blog post).
Other than give me structure, this starts the day off with a 30 minute bike ride, which so far has been very relaxing.
Only time will tell what this day feels like once the novelty starts to disappear and becomes part of my weekly routine, but so far I've been feeling more motivated and determined, even during the working hours. Working in two day chunks is more manageable than having a 5 day marathon.
The one part that is a bit more undefined to me right now is the time for writing. The blog is an easy target, but I want something that lets me practice in a more structured way. One blog post a week seems like a good target, but maybe not as satisfying. Maybe I'll do a short story a week.
