Poetry in Sounds is a new music contest hosted by Naviar Records. Every month we’ll present a recently published poetry collection and invite musicians worldwide to make a song inspired by the main themes of the publication. Parallel to the weekly Naviar Haiku challenge, Poetry in Sounds is a monthly contest where the author and Naviar’s team will select the three best tracks and reward the artists with free music software or books.
This project aims to strengthen the bond between music and poetry further, offer musicians a regular opportunity to hone their craft and get new tools to explore a broader range of sounds.

This project was a fun experiment for me to have the privilage of creating and watching it grow as each artist sent me their track. I told none of them that they all got the same base drone to work on. No one knew until after they all wrote their peice. My curiosity behind this project was close to the "telephone game" kids play where some one whispers something to a person and then they whisper it to the next...so on and so forth, till by the end it's not even the same message anymore. This also floats on the same theory that not everyone actually sees the same thing as the next person..not everyones brain interprets the same image the exact same way. I am quite stoked with what everyone involved here created with what they were given and I love the differences each track has from the others. I hope you all enjoy and every one of us involved in this project thank you for listening and following along as we all push forward with sound art and noise manipulations...Keep an ear out for the next experiment and thank you once again for tooning in. Sit back and enjoy the show - Mike Benoit

Not so long ago, I contacted 7ISM to ask him, if he would be interested in a collaboration with me. I was very pleased, when he gave a positive response to my question and we got things going pretty fast after that. Since we live more than 11.000 km away from each other, the only option was file-swapping... and that went on until we finished what you just listened to. From start to finish, I enjoyed the complete process of working with 7ISM and I guess, sooner or later we'll pick up where we left of and do something together again.

Mike Benoit - "The idea for this album was something that came to me one day listening to The Residents "Commercial Album" which is certainly one of my favorite albums by them. I thought the limitation of track time must have been a fun little challenge for them, fitting a whole song into a minute just as it was a commercial. I wanted to do the same with ambience and figured I would invite some friends along as well. This is the collected ambient commercials we have created for you. We thank you all for joining our broadcast, please sit back and enjoy the show."
