Re: "Low-tech solar panels (by Low Tech Magazine)"
Every now and then I binge-read old magazines. 1930s-1960s there were a lot of DIY articles - people would actually have a metal lathe at home and were not afraid to use it. Mechanix Illustrated, for instance. In the 70s and 80s things got really dumbed down, and now you are not allowed to do real chemistry experiments, and instead of building a telescope (grinding your own mirrors) you just get an app.

@stack If you have any links to old DIY resources like that, especially large archives, I'd love to hear about them. I find myself getting more interested in DIY lately and I'd enjoy seeing resources that actually teach something useful.

@stack It is curious you mention the telescope because of course I found about the guide to build a Dobson telescope (or at least, some of the manual and the rest awaits into a manual you can buy) and it took me a while to find how to adhere the metal to the crystal after grinding.
Another problem to do chemistry, turning, woodworking, etc... in Europe at least, is the lack of space at home where you can safely do these things. Heck, it is even hard to have a small black and white development laboratory.

1877-2009... I guess 2009 was a bad year for machinists.

this has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen from Low Tech Magazine. Gaaaaaaah I wanna try this myself now.
โ Low-tech Solar Panels (from the Low Tech Magazine)
Low-tech solar panels (by Low Tech Magazine) โ I just share it out of curiosity, a very interesting read about solar panels and the possibility that they could be built in an "artisan" way.
