[amiga] dancer — This is my first pic using the amiga ascii art font & character set. Amiga is a popular category in the underground BBS art scene. It's interesting (to me) for a couple of reasons. The amiga charset is essentially latin-1, so you get access to "extended-ascii" characters like (¯), (°), and (²). What tools do you use? — I've been looking for a simple ASCII art editor for linux, open source, preferrably written in C (and definitely not Python or anything that pulls in random libraries and will stop working one day for no explainable reason) . Minimum requirements are: position the cursor anywhere, enter weird characters easily. Draw boxes and lines in various directions. Also, cut and paste as lines or boxes. I haven't found such a thing. tcf-x [ANSI] — Testing posting ANSI art to Bubble. This piece is from a 2015 art pack, [https link] I converted it from an .ans file to utf-8 using a custom version of this algorithm, [https link] The top is utf-8 only, the bottom is utf-8 with ansi colors, bold and other sequences.
