jpeGS 1.0 jpeGS is a freeware JPEG image viewer for the Apple IIgs. jpeGS is based on version 6 of the Independent JPEG Group's JPEG decompression code. Requires: - GS/OS 6.0.1 - 1.25MB of RAM (although you won't be able to do much in 1.25MB, so 2MB is probably a more realistic minimum) Recommended: - Second Sight video card. - 4MB (or more) of RAM. - An accelerator. - A hard drive. jpeGS supports the Second Sight video card, as well as being able to display images on the 320x200x16 SHR screen in either color or grayscale. Unfortunately, since the IJG code is written entirely in C, jpeGS is quite slow, so it will help greatly if you have 1) an accelerator, and 2) something else to do while the image is being decompressed :) On the other hand, jpeGS is capable of producing very high quality images. I was very surprised with some of the results in the 16 color mode! Enjoy! Mark Marr-Lyon o9938156@unicorn.it.wsu.edu
