RELEASE 1.0
===========
Welcome to The Software Experience #1. Hopefully, the first of series of
demonstrations which fully exploit the power of the Apple IIgs personal
computer. If you have any ideas for future demonstrations, drop me a line.
TSE #1 Was written on an Apple IIgs with 1768K, a 7MHz Transwarp GS, two
3 1/2" disk drives. Software used: Orca/M 1.0a, ROSE Editor, LinkIIgs from
APW Tools & Interfaces, DeluxePaint II for designing font and the "easter
egg", SHRConvert to convert $C0 files to $C1 files.
The animation sequence was rendered a Hewlett Packard 9000/370 TSRX graphics
workstation, using HP/UX 6.5. Rendering software written by yours truly
in Berkeley C. Output was the Utah RLE file format. RLE to GS conversion
program written by yours truly. GS images downloaded to the IIgs using
Columbia Kermit and ProTerm 2.1. These text images were then converted to
IIgs binary images using an AppleSoft hack and SuperGraphics GS, a graphics
utility from Nibble V9N2 (Feb '88) written by yours truly.
The program is supposed to run at 20 frames per second, but it "looks" like
it's only running at 15 frames per second without a Transwarp. The first
testing version was at a full 60 fps w/o a TWGS!!!
This program has only been tested on an Apple IIgs ROM 01 with and with out
a Transwarp. Please contact me if you are using this demo and whether it worked
or not. I'd like to know how compatible it is. Unlike FTA, I did use Tools!!
