If you like "true to life" comedies in the same vein as Napoleon Dynamite (but not the same exact kind of humor) The Castle (1997) is a good watch.

The movie is about a family that lives near an airport. The father of the family loves his property and can't believe that noone else wanted a house with an airport for a backyard. All goes well until the airport decides to expand, using compulsory aquisition law to take possesion of the house. You can probably guess the rest of the main plot beats from there. Where the film really shines is in it's character moments. They're all so intimately familiar with each other that you, the viewer, feel drawn in as well.
