# Another dream Is this becoming a dream journal? ... Maybe ? Anyway. Just before I woke up this morning I had this dream that I was auditioning for a singing part in .. something, like a show or jingle. I worked, apparently, for the company, because I was auditioning for my boss, an Anthony Bourdain type, all thin and irascible and drawn. I hadn't really prepared at all. I realized I needed a guitar -- I was going to do it a capela, but realized that wouldn't work. In dream fashion, a guitar appeared and I got it out to play. I played this version of "These Days" by Jackson Browne that I'd come up with a while ago, in college. I'm proud of the work I did but the tune is hard to nail right off, and I didn't do great. I had some flats and I forgot the words and ended it early. When I finished, my boss said that *if* they hired me, something something. I had this feeling I didn't do so well. I asked if he'd like to hear another song, and he declined. I left feeling like maybe I did just fine and maybe they'd call. Then I woke up. I'm left with a deepening feeling of failure and that song stuck in my head. It's weird.
