BOLLOX! I updated my phone by mistake. Now ADB isn't working. The devil make work for idle hands. My Xiaomi Mi A2 hasn't had an update all year. That doesn't bother me much, as I don't use GAPPS or any phone home software and I use a VPN at all times. I don't know if it makes a difference? Anyway. I A Bothered? An update was welcome although completely unnecessary. I've been looking for an excuse to attempt to put a new battery in this phone for ages, as it's way past it's sell by date, using it for tethering hasn't helped the battery life by any means either. Now could be a good time to get a new phone. There's a Motorola G32 out there for 89.99 quid (Was ÂŁ99.99. Epic! Wow of irony!) and Lineage and CrDroid (Allegedly) work on it. What kind of support is available is anybody's guess. My current phone obviously has one guy recompiling lineageOs every now and then just for the hell of it. I could do that myself, but after seeing the barriers to entry I think I'll pass. I'd need to buy RAM / new Hard-drive just to compile it. :-( The idea of using Blu-Tooth as a method of getting some settings off my old phone is giving me nightmares already.

In what can only be described as foolish move, I brought my mother a Firestick for Christmas. I can't believe these things exist. Not only is it an invasive arsehole to setup without going halfway round the Wrekin, but when you finally have set it up you have to login to every channel? You know!? The one's that normally you can just turn on with the remote. It is the most pointless piece of shit I've ever encountered. It seems like a perfectly good waist of a SBC. God forbid, a "Smart TV" is this bad?.. Why else would something so horrible exist if it weren't a punishment? I can't see any practical benefit from having one of these things, I even had to install Kodi just to get BBC radio. All moot point's now I can't get the fucking thing to turn on.. It's going back to shop from whence it came. Final verdict. UTTER FUCKING SHITE. Like getting a Computer when we were kid's, waiting two hours for the tape of Ghostbusters to load and then having the fucking thing crash the moment any body got slimmed.

Unlike the old version, the remake of *V doesn't seem to start until the last but one episode of session one. And if the last trip down memory lane didn't remind me of Blakes Seven, then the clear allusions within the main protagonist sure as *hit do in this one. No one is ever going to hold a candle up to Jacqueline Pearce though. Annoyingly Anna's character only starts to get good after an emotional out burst (Children of Auron style) after her soldier children are destroyed. I'd find it hard to believe the writers and stylist's of this show hadn't got Blake seven (Servalan) in mind when they drew up Anna. There is homage there I think? It's ok so far but it lacks the jeopardy of the original. Most the characters start out ready to fight with little development needed, subsequently areas of weakness are granular and forced. I look forward to watching the rest though.

It is pitiful that in 2023 a containerised package is basically useless to anyone other than some massive nerd that's got time to fix it or someone running the entire gnome-desktop suite. The EGR valve was clogged and filthy and everything else needed to be cleaned as well. Some air intake regulator thingy was kinda stuck with grime. The EGR valve is so hard to remove I wonder whether it was ever meant to be repaired/cleaned? You get maybe an inch each way to get at the bolts holding it on, if you're a prize idiot like me that means by the time the bolt is half way out the ratchet gets stuck against the bulk head and that is not an easy thing to undo. It's a job that requires the patients of Job. Fishing out fallen bit's of engine from obscure occulted parts of engine, hacksawing mashed screws, hitting things with hammers and fiddling about. Only one part not put back on, a gasket of the EGR. I tried to put it back but it fell off again. Now where all doing Twenty MPH I'll have to check that more regularly.

Well anyway I do modprobe -r psmouse && modprode psmouse to get the track pad working. This isn't all bad whilst it's aliased. I finally got Wifi working as well. This is know my primary TXT tool. I'll do all my Gemini stuff from it. It's been ages since I've had visible F keys - Jump Down, Turn Around Pick a Bale Of Cotton Shama Lama Ding Dong owz yer Father! I don't really have any demanding tasks for this machine, but it's super quick and I'm sure it's capable of doing more that command line tasks.
I think it came with Windows 10 but I didn't even boot that up I just swapped the HD out for an SSD and due to past experience I only used half the drive, so it's got a 500mb boot partition and a 50G operating partition. I wish they still did 40G drives, I don't think they do them any more? A small hard drive is a good way of keeping your mind focused; the less clutter on a system the better.

After just watching Black Adam (2022) and VelociPastor (2017) I can safely say, VelociPastor with it's budget of Two quid, is a much better film. One of my old jaunts. We never went that often, The Talbot and Four furnaces where closer and good, the latter being good after the Talbot got shit once Colin left.. So so many years ago now... The surrounding area was Pub city for a time when the steel works was operational (Round Oak) et al. Most Pubs where kept afloat by near by industry. My mates Dads first job was fetching Beer for the worker at Round Oak. No one was drinking water back then. He would just fetch Beer from the Blue Brick. So yet another reason to go back has vanished. In fact I think the last time I went back I went to the crooked house. I bumped into the guy from "the silly shop" there. I hadn't seen him in decades, it was like we'd spoken only last week. The "Silly shop" was a record shop in Dudley where you could get just about anything for just silly money (low prices). The first thing I did the last time I went back also also, was go to the Fox and grapes and have a proper pint (Bathams). You can't get better.

It needs heavy curation and probably bringing into the real world but you could easily get a bunch of themes for painting into a collection. Sausage-mash is a personal favourite. It's so seedy. Well it turned up inside a soggy box with barely any protection, cheap Chinese tubes fitted and totally not working at all. I request a return and got sent return postage almost immediately. I think the seller was trying it on, though I'm not sure what they where thinking to that end. I'd say it's all been a rather expensive waist of time and quite the contrary to the sellers feedback. Pity really, I liked the feel of the amp. It feels a bit like a toy, in a fun way. I ordered another one from someone else. Second time lucky.
