The nationwide Verein zur Erhaltung klassischer Computer e.V. is organizing its public annual meeting "Classic Computing 2024" from Friday, 27.09. to Sunday, 29.09.2024 in Pfedelbach. The non-profit association has been in existence for over 20 years and is dedicated to the restoration, preservation and presentation of computers, mainly from the 1970s and 1980s. More than 400 collectors of classic computers from Germany and other European countries belong to the association.
Almost 80 of the members are expected to attend "Classic Computing 2024", exhibiting up to 200 functioning historical computer systems, games consoles, workstations and office machines from four decades. This makes "Classic Computing 2024" one of the largest events of its kind in Europe. Almost all of the devices are in operation and can be touched and tried out. A lecture program accompanies the exhibition and highlights aspects of retrocomputing. It will be organized by members of the association and guests from outside the association.
The event will open its doors exclusively for school classes and press representatives on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, anyone interested can visit "Classic Computing 2024".
