Learn Finnish, you'll get to say "in the 1997th" as "tuhannennessayhdeksännessäsadannessayhdeksännessäkymmenennessäseitsemännessä". Or avoid saying things in that manner to save your sanity, but who am I to judge? "from 1994 to 1997" would colloquially just be "välillä/vuodet ysineljä ysiseiska" to avoid compound words with forty syllables. I had to consult wiktionary to make sure I was inflecting that properly, and I'm native!

a drug addict intruded our property while we were away. scouting for things to steal. luckily my cameras caught it and pinged me when they detected a person. I quickly called my neighbor who stopped by with his truck and caught the guy. since the suspect tried to start a fight, even the sheriff came, which is a bit of a hit and miss out here. that scared the tweaker and hopefully he will never return. the “no trespassing” signs are huge and i put them up every 50 feet or so. the lack of respect for other people’s property pisses me off. he was lucky i wasn’t there myself…

Folks, I think I may have finally done it: all thanks to the developments of cipres aka @gemalaya, I've gone ahead and fitted together something extraordinary I feel gemini has been needing for a very long time. You should be able to do so yourself via the repo on their gitlab. Behold, I present to you all: Hashnix.club Misfin Mail! gemini://hashnix.club:1958/ Following the steps on the dialog for the frontend, you should be able to successfully generate and then assign a certificate to your account, which you can then share your public address and send messages to others. If all is working well, you should be able to send mail to userfxnet@hashnix.club. Try it out! Thanks :D

jsreed5.org was down for several hours last night. A problem in the underlying EC2 instance caused it to become unreachable, and I didn't notice the issue until I woke up today. It has now been resolved and my capsule is available again. I apologize for the inonvenience!

I discovered the source of my slow internet woes: macOS was constantly trying to download several large, high-resolution videos to use as screensavers ∴ completely saturating my bandwidth

The value of games. How to figure out the real estimate value of a game? There are so many websites that sell games, and some prices are just rediculous. i'm trying to locally trade games, music and movies mainly to grow my music collection, and to find a new home for records that i have multiple copies of, and i'm looking if i can trade games as well. But then i need to have a reliable source to estimate a market value. Does anyone have a good sourse

Turns out that i was indeed already used to the way how Kristall works, and that partially blinded me to the way that Lagrange expects things to be done. I think i figured it out, but i have to say that Kristal is more intuitive in the way it used Idenities.

I have build a bit more on my little webspace, andi find it difficult to focus. Yet it makes me appreciate the simplicity of the gemini markup. I have to spent more time with gopher as i see a few things that makes gopher interesting, eventho the markup is a bit of a pain to work with. And .. i also see how much more difficult html is, i found a few ways to simplify all the thinks that i used to make complicated in the past, but there is always the option to actually make things complicated, so in my case it consumes a lot of energy to prevent myself from diving into rabbit holes.

I feel like alcholism is my not-so-healthy solution to building new crazy software. The "fuck it, let's try anyways" booze make you feel is difficult to replace. I need a more healthy alternative.

My flat has developed water leakage in 3 of four rooms. The room I am sitting in has 4 active drip areas, and another waiting in the wings. A drop just hit my back. I officially live in a slum house. I'm officially a loser. And there's nothing I can do about it but work. I would like to kill myself, but someone is relying on me. I have to keep dealing with this. Every time I hear a drip it's a punch in the stomach. And now watermarks are appearing above my computers. Maybe tomorrow, water will destroy them. The land lord says, "These buildings are getting so old." Then he walks away and does nothing. I'm so sick of life and of people. I can't even have a dry room.

I have purchased three separate tomes of Oxford dictionaries of English, each between 1100 and 1600 pages. Paper dictionaries are the best. You can get lost in them, and you don't have to go to the computer to check something with variable results and etymological veracity.

I'm not sure if i was getting used to Kristall or if there is something about Lagrange that confuses me. Lagrange looks really nice nothing wrong with that, but when using it it feels like something is ...missing? Maybe it's just me..dunno. I'm throwing it out here maybe someone can tell me what it is that feels a bit odd. :-)

The mental 'zone' and electronic or mechanical resonance have a lot in common. Once in 'the zone' thoughts 'resonate' and release an ever growing amount of energy, The mind rings in resonance with itself,it slowly decays until you tapped 'the zone' to it's maximum as far as your health allows you to.
