Another itch.io game I found in my pile.
ESC is an interactive novel about identity, roleplay, and dreams
Enter the memories of Raine as she explores the text-based world of VerdaMUCK, a simulation of the old network within the vast cerebrally-interconnected network of the near future. Meanwhile, a mysterious individual known only as The Navigator exposes the truths of the Cerenet as a conspiracy-in-the-making begins to unfold.
It's written by Lena Raine, which made me curious. (you might be able to discern a theme based on the types of games I've been playing...)
Definitely. This one's a more full-fledged visual novel compared to the one I covered previously, at around 3 hours of length. Very creative presentation through the text-based video game prompts, a pretty interesting cyberpunk world, and a solid well-paced storyline here. The role-playing characters have a lot of depth to them. Parts of the story are slightly cliche but the writer is aware of it and plays around with the ideas, respecting your intelligence.
10mg: Cover Me In Leaves - the visual novel I made a post about previously
Anyway, I've talked a bit about three visual novels today, but if you're gonna pick one, choose this one. Lena Raine is quite good as it turns out. *9/10*
No Linux port, only a Windows download. I don't remember having issues playing it on Wine.
