A lot of us in the FOSS community have had a little laugh over conspiracy theorists who use their Android phone to post scary news about the government tracking over Facebook. The articles range from stretched theories ('covid passes represent the thin end of the wedge for bringing in ID cards') to the outright insane. This nonsense grants a rare occasion when I feel totally free to rant-FOSS.
You don't care about this, and you haven't researched it. You're on Windows at home, and Google runs your phone, and returns the answer to your every on-line question, because those are the corporations you chose to track you.
This definitely sounds a bit petulant, but I find it shuts people up. The attack does not constitute an ad hominem, because it's not attacking the idea by attacking the person - it's simply an attack on the person. It's a simple accusation of insincerity, and well deserved, because anyone who actually cared about privacy and protection from the 'five eyes' would move.
