THE CAST of the new RTÉ TV series Blackshore have revealed their
thoughts and familiarities with the Mid-West ahead of the first
episode.
Actor Andrew Bennett (Donal Reilly) is from Limerick and says he has
known Killaloe "all his life" and that it is 'amazing'.
"I was born in Limerick city and lived in Crecora until I moved to
Dublin at around the age of 23. I went to the Crescent (College
Comprehensive) and while filming down here, met a driver who had been
in my class.
"I hadn't seen the man in 40 years and so, in the half hour drive into
Limerick city, he filled me in on all the gossip including the hurlers
and JP McManus!"
Protagonist Lisa Dwan (DI Fia Lucey) also said she has never filmed in
the Mid-west before but enjoyed the memories it brought her.
Blackshore begins tonight (Sunday, February 4) on RTÉ One at 9:35pm.
