Oh boy ... deep breath ... here goes ...
I am fascinated by the idea of a live debate between Putin and Feminists. Putin is called the strongman. I have seen quite a few videos of Putin and I can definitely say that he exudes a strong masculine energy. Detractors may say that his machismo is a product of deeper-seated insecurities, but I would reject that claim. He projects a lot of power that seems to be part of his make-up.
His skill as a communicator is off the charts. Whilst Trump has that arrogant air about him, Putin always seems calm and analytical. Part of it may be that Trump is an extrovert, whilst Putin is an introvert. Trump is ESFP. Putin is an INTJ. Polar opposites in terns of personality. Putin's ability to get to the heart of the matter is unparalleled.
I lump progressivists in with the feminists. They're the same thing in my eyes. So Putin represents the masculine energy and feminists represent, well, the feminine energy (obviously). Who would "win" this ultimate show-down between the sexes?
I write this post prompted by a few things. One is a YT short where a young lady (that's no lady, that's a strident progressive) asks a mature black guy if he identifies as black. The black guy chuckles and says that of course he does. Humiliated, the woman doubles down and she shows her ugly side. The black guy is taken aback.
Another prompt for me was with Jordan Peterson and a female interviewer. The woman was on the offensive. She seemed more interested in point-scoring than engaging in genuine debate. I have a LOT of issues with progressivist rhetoric.
Lastly, I saw an page answer over at The Oracle. The question was "What is your most controversial opinion about gemini?". An answer was:
While politics should absolutely NOT be ubiquitous in Geminispace, in the arenas where political discussion does take place, there's a disappointing lack of content and opinions from the right.
I figured that I'd go for it, knowing that my views will garner a lot of personal attacks and unconvincing counter-arguments.
UPDATE 2022-09-23: For the record, I take a pro-Western stance against Putin. I do think Russia has a lot of corruption, and that most definitely includes Putin. I hope for peace and that the conflict is resolved as quickly as possible with the minimum loss of life and property.
What's my stance on the Ukraine conflict? I wish it had never happened, of course. Every side would have been better off without it. Ukraine would remain as a buffer zone between east and west, ensuring that a safe distance remained between them.
At first I couldn't believe Russian's initial play for Kyiv. Later I realised that it was a German tactic in WW2. Blitzkreig was overwhelmingly against France. It seemed look like it might have stood a chance against Russia until it completely unravelled.
Russia failed to take Kyiv. They should have taken that as strong indicator that they were ill-equipped for war. Their army was humiliated.
My guess is that any idea of returning the whole of the Ukraine to Russian control will not succeed. The Ukrainians are too well-motivated to let that happen. Russia will soon hold a referendem in the Crimea. I suspect Putin to win. He wouldn't hold one otherwise. He will use this win to legitimise his position in the Crimea.
Russia is calling up reservists. There seems to be significant anti-war sentiment in Russia now that their sons and husbands will be called to fight. I'm surmising that Putin's plan is to annex some eastern-most part of Ukraine and call it a win.
Nothing is over 'til it's over, mind.
