For the past month or so I've been using Fedora Silverblue on my computer. I like the idea of an immutable OS, and I typically use distrobox to contain all my other package anyway, so why not use it?
I had to layer a LOT of packages to get it to work the way I like. I want to use sway, and 'sericea' isn't stable yet, so I layer it and a bunch of other stuff on top. The full list:

It's kind of ridiculous. But the end result is that I have a silverblue desktop where I can use GNOME or i3 or sway, with all the tools I need. Anything else that's not a desktop-critical package gets thrown in a distrobox. I have vscode installed in a distrobox and exported, so that it also has compilers and other tools, and that keeps it happy. It's working well enough and I'm quite pleased with the result. I don't really see the benefit over vanilla Fedora yet, given that it's pretty easy to roll back and downgrade packages there, and it's really only been a pain so far. But maybe it's better long term to have an "unbreakable" or "unbrickable" OS for most people. For me, though, I'm comfortable reinstalling if I need, so I think next time there are any problems, I'll just nuke and pave with "regular" Fedora.
