Arcane Duel

Description

A simple and casual card game that can be played in almost any platform.

Arcane Duel is a simple game to spend a couple of minutes while commuting, or while waiting for your Royal Milk tea to be completed.

BUT! Sometimes a match could last much longer, depending on your luck, or lack of it. =)

Note: the game ONLY works with the aforementioned version of LOVE engine.

It relies heavily on functionalities from that version, and adapting to superior engine versions would require a lot of rewritting.

As a disclaimer, you might find bugs and you could come to a situation where the game becomes unplayable. I tested it and it works fairly well, though.

How to run Arcane Duel?

There are only 3 steps needed to play the game:

1) First and foremost, download Arcane Duel 1.13 to your hard disk.

2) You need LOVE Engine to play this game. You can download and install it from the link below:

Love Engine (HTTP site)

3) Execute the game file that you downloaded in the first step.

Gameplay Instructions:

The goal of the game is to reduce the enemy's heal points down to zero or less.

To achieve that, you need to cast magic spells represented by "cards". Each spell does something similar, for example, some will damage the enemy directly, others will poison them, dealing damage over time, others will curse your enemy, and others will increase your overall spell power.

In addition, you can also summon companions that will attack the enemy every turn, and some companions have certain skills that will trigger each turn automatically.

To cast spell you need energy points. Each turn, you obtain extra 2 energy points. You cannot have more than 5 energy points.

To cast a spell, simply click/tap over the spell card that you want to use. If you have enough energy points, the spell will be cast immediately, and the enemy will start his turn.

Most of the interface is very easy to understand, and all the elements have a tooltip menu when you hover over them.

The game accepts a few keyboard commands:

- Key 'p': Developer mode. It will show the cards of the enemy, as well as some other information used for developing purposes

- Key 'd': starts a new game with random cards. Can be used anytime.

- Key 'Escape': ends the game and closes the program immediately and without asking.
