Maybe you listened to music on your computer back in the eighties or early nineties? If you did, chances are you came across MOD music, or later on XM or S3M music. Then this Windows app might be for you!
Bassdrop is an upcoming free (as in libre and beer!) Windows application to play retro music using the MOD, XM, S3M, IT formats, as well as more popularized streaming formats such as MP3. It will also let you stream online music as well as play music from FTP shares.
While there already are several music players to choose from, this project is primarily an exercise for me to learn more about Windows 11 and WinUI 3 development. Although I am a .NET developer since a long time back, there is a lot happening here to grasp. And why not rock some beautiful music by Purple Motion or Kefrens as you're hacking, right?!
Watch this space for more news and a feature set. It is currently alpha software. At best.
