There's Alex Schroeder's Ijirait that was introduced in smolZINE issue 5:

— gemini.cyberbot.space/smolzine/smolzine-issue-5.gmi

I think the fundamental challenge is with getting the UI right so that the players retain some sort of feeling of inhabiting the same space. I remember trying out Ijirait but it mostly felt like wandering in a deserted place because the presence of other players is difficult or impossible to track via Gemini requests.

Maybe some kind of a constantly open streaming solution could work, perhaps requiring two tabs at once, like you can do with gemini://chat.mozz.us?

Or the game just needs to be constructed in a more non-real-time manner.

Not to discourage anyone, but isn't telnet pretty much perfect for MUD/MUSH already? Anything to improve there?

@sirwilburthefirst I get your point about telnet. Defining a UI that is more than Telnet but still small and graceful would be a fun challenge.

Has anyone thought of (or seen) a Mud/Muck/Mush kind of thing on Gemini? I never got into them before, but it seems really interesting to see if they could thrive in Gemini as part of the right community.
