05/01/2021 (things i learned)
- Read through many threads about translating Python and now
i understand why ProgLangs aren't being translated...
- I got Metamath Zero to work! And the tutorial vid was awesomee
- Such a simple thing like translating IDLE can be SO COMPLICATED
- Pansa Pansa!
Reading a tonne of python mailing lists lol some going back more
than a decade hah.. It's funny to read people arguing against non-
ASCII idents when I grew up with a python with them. Makes you
think how the future will simply have different standards and
how everything will just fall into place. I think ive decided that
a purely localised language would be best. when you go into the
details, all sorts of things will be "yeah this but not this" which
just won't make progress and will fizzle out.
My arguments are: #it should be a social choice, not a technical one.
The beginner should know what they are getting into. A misconception
I had was that learning a proglang isn't a HUGE life choice for most.
I believe it shouldn't be tho, actual dev is SO MUCH different.
The most important shift a localized proglang makes is to increase
independence and enable individual empowerment for the masses. NOT
for the few who would be devs anyway.
today is (** ) because people were talking negatively all dinner
and my IDLE & ProgLang views shifted, but tbh not all hope is lost.
