This is the way. "Life well lived is a series of personal obsessions shared without expectation of an audience".

You have a good point. I don't do a lot of reading on Gemini, even though I program some things for it. However, I don't know if that's just my preferences not being what the community tends to put out, or if this is an experience for everyone else on here, but I tend to think it's more the former.

I'd say there's a lot of action on antenna daily. but as you say, depends on your interest. even the old content from 2021 is fun to read if you find a good capsule on discogem or just browsing.

It's a lot more lively around here when you're active :)

I've been quiet myself for a while, apart from the occasional interaction here or on station. Just haven't found the time to post, I guess I'll get back into it at some point although I doubt I'll aim for daily again. Is that bad? Eh. I like that I have somewhere to post if I should feel like it, and I still read more or less every day. Seems pretty good in all.

to your comment on Will this be lost - I rarely think anything on the Internet is as permanent as an acid free journal. sure we have computer backups and yada but can you dig up a hard drive in a hundred years and expect to use it? doubtful. if preserved, books can last a long time. however, zero interactions. take your pick I guess.

Oh, this reminds me that there is something like the Internet Archive for Gemini. It's on the Kennedy Search Engine page. @acidus made the search engine and the archive. They are both great!

There is an arm's length feeling about interactions, if any. However, as I get to know who is what, I more and more appreciate others here doing their thing, even without actual personal interactions. It sure beats the headbutting noise. I find BBS provides a really good balance, where you can chime in when you feel like it, but without the kindergarten pileup seen on the big web.

I would like to participate more, just have a lot on my plate right now while the weather is still good. :)

@Minko_Ikana Well hurry up before I leave, dammit! :-)

in the before times, it could take months before a letter reaches it's destination, and the reply would take months more. that's with a global network of people making moving data happen. I see the sometimes sparse spaces as weaning myself off the constant barrage of the big web. I do read a lot on here, but sometimes it's just the vibes of people talking about things they care about.

Sustainability doubts — Gemini is feeling like /dev/null again. Don't get me wrong. We're talking lots of really interesting people writing fairly interesting things. And I can't tell you how impressed I am with @skyjake for creating [gemini link] and the Lagrange browser. But the writing side of Gemini quickly feels like: [preformatted] Somewhat related is this familiar feeling: [gemini link] Will this content will be lost which is all the more familiar when realizing/remembering it's...
