Re: "SonicPi compositions over Gemini?"
I myself am very bad at it, so I won't inflict my noob experiments on you guys
share it anyway :)
I've never used sonic pi but I dabble with Tidalcycles which is another language for livecoding music. You should check it out, too.
also I'm seconding the dj Dave recommendation. She puts out a lot of good stuff.
another coded music recommendation (not Sonic Pi): Emma Winston puts out some livecoded music under the name Deerful. She uses ixi lang for the "Tell me I can fix this on my own" album iirc. Perseids and Sunset Drive are my favorites
also not Sonic Pi, but Lil Data has put out some interesting music that was made with Tidalcycles, including creating the intro to charli xcx's "track 10" with it. "BOING" and "Wondercoin pt 2" are my favorite originals of his, but he also has some charli xcx and kim petras remixes that are really good.

@ResetReboot: Hey... Yeah I know about Dj_Dave, I like her stuff, but on YouTube you're given the final musical product, while I thought that Gemini, given its nature, would the perfect place to transmit music in what is essentially a form of musical notation... Also, it's weird but even on YouTube there's not that many SonicPi videos... I don't get it!
@wasolili: This sounds interesting, but I looked at some introductory videos, and it looks way less approachable than SoniPi... I'll still explore further, but honestly SonicPi looks and feels rather friendly, even for a guy who doesn't have a background in coding... As for publishing my own experiments, they're so embarrassing, if I had to post them here, it would be for comical purposes haha! I'd rather get better at it first frankly...
this looks pretty cool
@gritty: You didn't know about SonicPi? Oh boy... You're in for a treat!

@Nono Maybe it is time to start a CodedMusic subspace here? (So it is not only SonicPi, but the others recommended over here?)
@ResetReboot: Probably! But I haven't looked at how it's done yet... Still don't know how to publish images inside posts haha! But it shouldn't be too difficult, I'll have a llok at the help section!
@RestReboot: Done! Now that I know how to make subspaces on Bubble, I opened two of them: One called Music_As_Code, and one specifically for Sonic Pi called, well, SonicPi... Because Sonic Pi being the more approachable one for beginners, I thought it deserved its own subspace. Haven't contributed anything yet. Plus I just broke my Sonic Pi install, because the Linux version is just a workaround and not an official build, but that's another story. Here they are, right below:
SonicPi compositions over Gemini? — Any SonicPi users on here? Seems to me that Gemini is the perfect place to share text based compositions... I myself am very bad at it, so I won't inflict my noob experiments on you guys, but I'm sure the broader community would love to see some of your compositions... And maybe some Geminauts will be hearing about SonicPi for the first time on here... I think it deserves its own subspace.
