Re: "How is everyone’s gardening going? I started gardening this..."
Our plants are doing so-so this year. The best producers so far have been our beans. We planted 6 stalks, and right now that's enough for us to have fresh beans from the garden 2-3 times a week.
Our tomatoes also seem to be growing great and the very first ones are just starting to ripen, with a ton more on the way. Looking forward to when they're ready to eat!
Our potatoes didn't grow as well as last year for whatever reason. They died off early and we already had to harvest them. I'd say they produced about 50% of our previous batch.
Eggplants grew very very slowly, and are just now starting to show good signs of life. Maybe they'll mature enough to produce fruit, we'll see.

Extreme heat has been difficult to manage. Planted millet, all kinds of raddishes, lettuce, corn, sunflowers .. Well, millet is now my favourite thing to plant, it's ridiculously easy to grow and it survives heat and droughts easily, doesn't need much water.
Been gardening since I was a kid.
I was thinking of growing potatoes, but I didn’t get around to it due to space constraints (I just have a small plot in the garden that I share with the ducks, albeit I have a small fence around the plot) I am thinking of trying them next year but in buckets or containers. My wife is a fan of radishes so I may give those a go too. Corn May be a bit too much for my small plot. It’s quite a good challenge though, trying to grow in a small area. 👍

@s5 We grow our potatoes in buckets and it usually works out great! It makes harvesting them a lot easier too, you just dump out the buckets and then pick the potatoes out of the dirt instead of having to dig anything up.
I think I will be trying that next year then 👍
I abandoned our garden plot, sadly. Between the dense clay soil and the weeds (hyperaggressive sunflowers??) our squash and beans have struggled. The corn was doing fine, but I stopped watering em since the other stuff was a lost cause.
I did pick a ton of the wild chamomile that overtook much of the plot though! Next year I'll be using mulch and starting with seedlings. 😅
How is everyone’s gardening going? I started gardening this year, mostly as an experiment to find out what I could grow. I planted peas, which were successful although next year I plan to plant a lot more of them, as I only planted about 7 plants. I also planted onion seeds which came to nothing, carrots which are still growing, but I made the mistake of being slightly too greedy and not spacing them out enough or thinning them, so they’re a mixed bag which some slightly undersized carrots and...
