The glorious waiting, and anxiety,
Blue-sky wo-wo and limitless thinking:
A girl came to me in my dreams, talking
Of love and sex and babies, hand-washing
Clothes in the mythical Liffy.
The dream iterated, girl after girl,
Each with soft promises and summer hair:
We retreated deeper into the woods,
Breaking cover only to swim naked
By starlight in the cold river.
