the lit sight of space
hot beyond hot
spread by glassen rays
the most random things
around the warehouse spread
scattered
hospital furniture
a cage filled with chirping babies
dust thicker
than the cars beneath their layer
a sofa
with its guts turned over
all thrown as if they rained
over it all
as if by a thread hang
the fallen apart shell
of an archway
and as if a witness
a green chair
with a clean and brand new face
said to me: seat and watch
the whole scene
its far-reaching shape
on my way out
entwined some wire
shone free of any stain
it had just rained and yet
the contrast was what made it great
