Bob Allison (aka "scarecrow") was a newgroup moderator and notable ASCII art collector in the early 90's. I was scrolling through one of his archive files, and I jotted down some notes on the pieces that I found particularly interesting. The whole file is nice general overview of usenet-era ascii art, and it covers a lot of different styles from email sigs to bbs login screens.

I love how the font for "nexus" uses so many different characters. It feels almost colorful, despite being B&W text.
