Was reading about the "Wall of Sound" recording technique by Phil Spector, as well as listening to some of the samples. I don't understand why people in the 60s thought this technique sounded good. It's pretty much the one main thing I hate about older music, lol.
In fact, I associate a lot of older music with this sound, and that's why I don't listen to a lot of older music. It makes everything sound distant and muffled and unclear.

Also, just to clarify, there are some songs where the melody and lyrics of the song are great, but Spector's production and the production of his "technique" I find to be horrendous. A great example is "River Deep - Mountain High" - a great song, with horrendous production!
