[Help Wanted] I have no idea how to make a security token for Ariana

1. Andrew Singleton (singletona082 (a) gmail.com)

Basically sites like station need a security token. I use my tablet a year
deal and I happen to use Ariana.

How do I make a token for Ariana to use for these sites? I have an Android
tablet, and a windows 10 computer that has PuTTY installed on it.

What you're looking for is a TLS client certificate. Each client has their
own way to generate it, and I'm not completely sure Ariane even supports them.

Ariane supports using client certificates, but doesn't provide a way to
generate them. The Ariane settings pane says to see the Ariane homepage
for steps to create a suitable keystore, but I wasn't able to find those
instructions.

It does actually, although I'm not sure how well it does as I've never used that
feature.

Instructions for generating a certificate are available at
gemini://oppen.digital/memex/posts/tech/android_pkcs12/

Once you have a cert you can select it for use by going to the settings
page in Ariane (the 'οΈ™' menu next to the address bar, then 'Settings'), hitting 'Client
Certicate' and selecting the generated cert file from earlier. There's
also an option to enter a password for the cert if you password
protected it (not necessarily a bad idea.)

Ariana is complaining about the address as copy/pasted into the address
bar. Any idea why?

Not sure. That link is on the default homepage for Ariane though
(gemini://oppen.digital/ariane/)

Just in case it still doesn't work though, I'll attach it to this email.

Well I feel stupid now.

There is blind and then there is unobservant. This was just plain unobservant.

Thanks for the heads up.
