If I was out there in the desert I'd for sure be wearing a headwrap and those long, flowy robes/dresses they all do. Nobody's gonna make fun of the guy wearing the dress, you'd be more liable to get mocked for trying to wear jeans when it's 110 and blue sky all day.
But then again, my undergarments are usually really lightweight and I prefer ones made of a mesh, not solid cotton or etc. which is more common. So I'm breathable all the way through if I'm wearing thin golf pants and a lightweight shirt. And that's the loadout I prefer.

As the summers get hotter by the year, I plan to start wearing a sarong starting next summer. I was miserable and at times even incapacitated during the extreme heat waves.
It won’t save me, but any bit of comfort will be a relief.
