Silly nitpick.
Every now and then I'm two-finger trackpad scrolling a post in Lagrange, and need to re-situate my scrolling fingers at a time when the cursor has inadvertently landed in a "preformatted block" that has one or more wide lines, such that continuing to scroll with my re-situated pair of scrolling fingers leads to the preformatted block scrolling horizontally instead of the overall post scrolling vertically.
It's hardly the end of the world, and perhaps someone has some advice on avoiding that? I occasionally remember to try to eek out a bit more finger scrolling to scroll past preformatted blocks such that the above can't happen. But of course I forget, and then wind up practicing my inner cursing over having to figure out how to get the preformatted block left-justified again *and* scroll past said block without too much trackpad gyration.

I think there's a feature where when the cursor is in pre blocks, it will always scroll horizontally, because it does this with the mouse wheel for me as well. I don't really like this feature, and I thought @skyjake did some recent change for it, but I'm not sure.
@clseibold Yes, it is a recent change in v1.17. It is supposed to only affect actual mouse scrollwheels, but perhaps some trackpads represent themselves as a wheel internally.
I actually have second thoughts about this, and will likely revert it to scrolling horizontally only when Shift is held down. (Like macOS does it.)

I for one would prefer "scrolling horizontally only when Shift is held down".
(Of course, then I'll be complaining about how I can't seem to scroll preformatted blocks horizontally (for having forgotten this thread).... ;-) )
