Ah, this is the war one (in a series this long, it had to happen eventually). Blondie joins the Housewives of America to try to do what she can for the war effort, but I guess she learns that she... shouldn't be doing that, because her "place" is in the home, so she'll leave the war effort to... uh... more qualified women? So the message is that women can help with the war effort, but only particular ones? I guess it would make more sense if I lived in 1942.

The near divorce this time occurs due to Dagwood committing a federal crime and impersonating an officer (which he gets off for, somehow). He does go after a potential dam buster, but doesn't punch him, which is disappointing. Also, Alexander and Alvin (who I guess are still in military school?) resort to extortion to raise money for bombs. This is where we find out that Blondie's maiden name is Miller, even though in "Blondie Goes To College" it was revealed her maiden name was Smith. Both of these are contrary to the comic strip, where her maiden name is Boopadoop (I'm still not making that up).

Also, the Loneliest Soldier is given a chance to kiss Rita Hayworth, who coincidentally appeared in a previous Blondie movie as Dagwood's high school friend.
