It's sad that Gemini is so small, but i think a slow growth is better than the boom that happened when DistroTube a nd a bunch of YouTubers made videos about it.

A lot of people joined but then left afterwards.

I did discover Gemini through them thought.

Gemini is a niche protocol, and clearly not for everyone. Of course, getting some exposure from popular content creators will make most people join and then leave after a few weeks or months. But that exposure was still important for those few users who liked Gemini and keep using it nowadays.

The current obsession with growth is misguided, a consequence of debt-driven expansionist economics. There is nothing wrong with slow growth, stability, or even occasional dips here as we (at least at the protocol level, but hopefully IRL) are not driven by the ever-incrasing debt load...
