Here are some boring technical details about this site.
This site is hosted on a VPS at OpenBSD Amsterdam. If you are comfortable with OpenBSD, I cannot recommend them enough. Great product, great support at a competitive price. (If you're not comfortable running OpenBSD, you should look elsewhere, as that's all they offer.)
I have a backup site on sourcehut.
I have accounts on a lot of pubnix sites, but generally speaking, I have my web sites there just redirect to mcornick.com instead of having the same text everywhere.
I use Kiln to generate the site. Kiln is a static site generator that supports both HTML and Gemini formats.
I offer this site's content identically in both HTML and Gemini. I like Gemini and want to support it, but I don't believe HTML is intrinsically evil. I also don't want to punish people who choose one over the other by only offering the text in one format. (This only applies to pages hosted on the main mcornick.com domain. Stuff hosted elsewhere is generally HTML only.)
I wrote an article on how I arrange my Kiln source code to prevent generating duplicate pages in indexes.
You can view all my site source code on Sourcehut.
