I have been using Linux as my main operating system for the past 5 years. Linux has worked better than Windows for me in all that time. I originally thought that Linux would be difficult to use, but I have found that the difficulty is greatly exageratted. I still don't consider myself very knowlegable about Linux, but I can confidently use Linux and even find it easier than Windows now. I haven't distro hopped a lot, so the only distros I've used are Ubuntu, Zorin, Arch, Manjaro, and NixOS. I used arch for the longest time and have just recently switched to NixOS. I'm still not sure of my opinion on NixOS. It's pretty different to what I'm used to and their wiki isn't great, but I've enjoyed it thus far.
I've started trying to mostly used cli programs for the past couple years. I use a lot of older laptops, so the minimal programs just run a lot better. I do have to admit that I'm a little bit obsessed with reducing bloat. I even recently set up a Thinkpad x61s without a window manager. I like pictures and movies a lot though, so I installed cage to open mpv and feh.
