As a first post, I wanted to share a small digital photo gallery I put together. it began as an attempt at putting up a very low-data consuming html website, but I have reservations about being so heavily on github. anyhow, I wanted to have a lot of images all on my free 1gb account and started reducing file sizes and quality on a bunch of images and ended up kind of liking the weird artifacts! The imagination fills in the pixel blurs, and they get the job done at sometimes just 6kb per image.

The theme here is techno-Orientalism, a theme throughout speculative fictions where Asians occupy cyborg and android identities in a dystopian future where Asia has replaced the West as a technological power. This gallery will go along well with some of the writings I plan to do here on technological exceptionalism, techno-Orientalism, Asian futurism, and speculative fictions.
I have also just finished watching the 2023 film The Creator, which I hope to turn into a blog post here that might discuss techno-liberal enchantment and anthropocentric ordering principles. That post may come next. For now, enjoy the lo-fi photo gallery!
