UtilityWorks now only works with GS/OS, and all system calls have been
converted to GS/OS calls. The UtilityWorks Launcher remains compatible
with ProDOS 16 as well as GS/OS. The following new features have been
added to UtilityWorks version 0.7.

1. Capability to copy resource forks and/or data forks of extended
files. Capability to add a resource fork to a standard file to make it
an extended file (when using System Disk 5.0). Capability to verify
both the resource fork and data fork of an extended file.

2. Capability to copy only those files that have changed (ie; whose
Backup Bits are set). In this copy mode the backup bits are reset after
a successful copy.

3. Improved File and Disk Utility Dialog. Entries are now alphabetized.
Directory size and space remaining information is displayed. Improved
initial selection of directories, centering of entries, and better
titles for each dialog.

4. Capability to change file type and auxiliary file type using a
simple point and click procedure. All Apple recognized (plus a few
others) file type mnemonics are displayed in a dialog. All Apple
recognized (plus several others) auxiliary file types are displayed in
a second dialog.

5. Ability to select which CDevs will be loaded, in addition to the
previous ability to select which Desk Accessories, Initialization
files, Drivers, and FSTs will be loaded.

6. Ability to display and print Printshop GS Color Graphics files as
well as $C2 Animation files (first screen) and some Object-oriented
Graphics files. UtilityWorks will now display and print almost all SHR
Graphics file formats, including those which take multiple screens.
Horizontal and vertical scroll bars permit you to scroll through the
picture. The part of the screen displayed can be saved as a standard
unpacked $C1 file which can be changed to a standard BIN file for use
by several slide show programs. Numerous bugs in Graphics display of
several SHR formats have been fixed. UtilityWorks will now correctly
display Paintworks 620 mode pictures and can now properly display
non-standard width Apple Preferred format pictures. Original palettes
(where they exist) are used. Icons are now displayed in a double height
screen format for large icon files.

7. Capability to use and display Publish It! $F7 fonts, as well as add
them to the standard Apple Font Manager's set of fonts.

8. Capability to display a text window (AppleWorks, Text, Source, and
AppleSoft files) and print it (in Graphics mode) using any desired
font. UtilityWorks will now word wrap in either landscape or portrait
mode for any desired font size. Optional headers containing file name,
date, and page numbers may also be printed. AppleTalk is supported, and
printing may now be done to an ImageWriter or LaserWriter connected to
AppleTalk in addition to direct connect printers.

9. Text printing now utilizes Character FSTs which permit rapid text
mode printing to either a direct connect printer or an ImageWriter or
LaserWriter printer connected on AppleTalk.

10. File search now has a wild card capability.

11. Numerous bugs have been fixed in the file and disk utilities.
Memory compacting and purge capabilities have been added.

12. I/O Redirection is supported with System Disk 5.0. Prefixes may now
be set to any character device name in addition to standard pathnames.

13. Computer Info. now provides additional information associated with
System Disk 5.0 and its new tools.

14. All pathname delimitors are now ":" rather than "/" to provide
compatibility for future FSTs. Show Devices now displays the device
name, volume name, and associated file system (eg; ProDOS). The Catalog
now displays a second line of information for any extended file that
shows the resource fork information.
