Same as @mbays. For iOS I use OsmAnd Maps.

Waze is owned by Google as well, so its probably not a good alternative. Openstreetmap should be an option

I also use OsmAnd whenever I can. It's not the best at finding newer places and it's been pretty bad with addresses, but it's usually workable.

osmand is a good mapping application

Thanks all! I'm gonna try using OsmAnd. Seems like it checks all the boxes.

I use Organic Maps on the iPhone. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was also available for android. It uses osm, but allows you to download chunks of map that you need so you can use it offline. I recently used it for my drive from Germany to the UK. it works pretty well, but obviously doesn’t have information on traffic jams or roadworks.

Google Maps Alternative — Anybody have any good Google Map alternative recommedations? I've tried Waze, with is good, except all the Ads for nearby restaurants, attractions, etc. I'd ideally like an open source alternative if one exists.
