Welcome to Gemini! I can't speak to your first question, as I self-host and am not really pseudonymous--there's even a real photo of me on my capsule. Regarding question 2, it's common for people to read through long post and gemlog histories, and reply to months- or even years-old posts. Personally, I love when someone responds to an old post I've made! Regarding your third question, as Gemini doesn't have a notification system other than Atom feeds, there's literally no such thing as updating your capsule too frequently. My only reason to space out posts would be to ensure that I myself don't get burned out on posting. Hope to see you around!

Welcome! There are no rules, but there is an understanding that one should not be an asshole... It's hard to define, but you know it when someone is being one.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and the advice. I’m now set up with a new capsule 🎉
BTW, there are a number of tilde servers that may be used to keep your gemini stuff _and_ keep (or forward) your email...

First off, welcome to Gemini and to Bubble. Sounds like you found a host that suits your needs, so that's good.
You can be a anonymous as you like. I don't generally use my real name but it's not particularly hard to find it, and I do use it in email correspondence.
Personally I'm thrilled with any response to my posts, even if it's to point out where I'm wrong or to say "you misspelt these three things". I don't think there's any particular feeling about necrobumping around here like there is on the http web. In particular due to the slower pace of everything in Gemini, I doubt anyone will ever really care. Bubble seems to be speeding up communication a bit, but there's still an awful lot of back and forth via gemlog posts.

@stack: Yeah, there are a few that look like nice communities, but the ones I was looking at all (understandably) wanted an existing email address first. That’s not insurmountable, of course; I was considering setting up a throwaway on some More Reputable Than Most™ email service to fill out a tilde sign-up form, but I started to feel a little overwhelmed so I figured it’s something I can sleep on and figure out what I want to do about it later (I know that sounds ridiculous, but 𝘤’𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘢 𝘷𝘪𝘦).

@jeang3nie: Thanks for the welcome, and your openness to relatively insubstantial replies is good to know about! When looking through some of the stuff that had previously caught my eye I was already starting to doubt whether I really had anything meaningful to contribute, but now I know that if I see your name then it’s okay to short-circuit some of those stages of triple/quadruple guessing myself 🙂
Fortunately there is no strict requirement to contribute meaningfully ;) I think it's a bit the opposite, Gemlogs are usually personal and casual. So, no pressure to perform :)
For identities, I use different domain names that point to separate capsules.
As far as posting frequency goes, I try to interact with the social/blogging side of Gemini sparingly. The most active I get is when I'm updating bug tickets for my app.
I see nothing wrong with folks who want to post daily. If they get annoying, Antenna has a filter feature.
Hi — Hello there! I’ve been browsing some capsules over the last couple of days and I’ve quite enjoyed reading people’s gemlogs and their associated replies. Having the opportunity to meet some friends, read and discuss other people’s ideas and have others read mine all seems really quite appealing, so I’m looking to participate in your community! That said, I have a couple of questions about technical and etiquette issues: How does capsule hosting work for the more paranoid among you? It’...
