it would be awesome to have a music metadata database for Gemini. A MusicBrainz proxy would do the job, but having something independent would be cooler. I wonder if there is a feasible way to keep something like that updated automatically.

Lots of languages are supported, including Python and Go. I imagine some kind of a Python CGI app wouldn't be too difficult to put together, if anyone wants to make a project out of it.

An open source underground smallnet music catalogue would be amazing to be part of and contribute to. A music network w.o the need for a directly attached record label, and distribution via independant hands-on publishing w.o any need to sacrifice for creative control of any kind; sounds like the kinda thing gemini would be good for, if I'm thinkin' about it right anyways.

@satch Nonsense, it's right on topic and well within field. Posts here don't necessarily need to be technical, but the technical part of music is what makes the machines and software possible to get it all goin' these days.
