Most music I've seen is self-hosted MP3/Vorbis files served over Gemini. This has the benefit of being directly playable in compatible clients, for instance in Lagrange's inline media player.

Services like yesterweb could also be useful if self-hosting is problematic (haven't used this myself tho):

I've been thinking about this, now I just have to figure this out. My only concern is bloating the server eventually. Also, I wonder how close this gets to piracy. Feels like it would a little bit.

Not a concern when it's *your* work, though. 😅

so I finally got around to working on my capsule at SDF; the index page appears to be up and running but the mp3 I shared won't load. I've noticed this with others' capsules as well; the audio file plays for a couple second then just stops. any idea what could be causing that?
