In Slavic languages sometimes you need only two letters: for example, Russian "ёб" is a very expressive and short word that will be understood by everyone
English is an inefficient language: it needs 4 letters for “fuck” and “shit”, when you only need 3 in some Eastern-European languages: “fak”, “šit”.
