i wish those youtube videos i want to watch were texts i would read. it is so hard for me to watch something.
i do it by 2x speed most of the times. and sometimes it really helps to be able to listen - when doing dumb work or when driving. but still, i have this feeling that the information i'd like to watch is not there as text or i cannot find it.
what would you suggest, how to change my habits and where to look for the stuff to read? i explore hacker news, but it covers mostly tech stuff.

suggestion: download caption text files for yt videos you want to 'read'. Hopefully the vid author manually wrote up a cc but the auto generated ones are serviceable.
Newswaffle + some of your local news sites is great. if you live in america NOAA weather forecast in plain text work with Newswaffle too.
Lemmy has been a big hit for me. I like it much more than mastodon tbh.

@Smokey, oh yeah, lemmy is better _by design_ since it's focused on communities instead of individuals. and everyone can be _heard_, regardless of the amount of followers they have. i think it's a great design. that's what made reddit so great back in the time
