Say you're a driver in F1. You get offered a seat at the front running team. But your team mate will be someone highly rated. Maybe it's Hamilton or Verstappen. The sort of driver who breaks records. This is your chance to be in the best car, to finish ahead of everyone... except one person. You might win a few races here and there, but a lot of the time you're going to be beaten, and even made to look a bit rubbish.
Do you take the drive, or do you go for a midfield team where you're the number one driver?
I think you take it. You might have to accept that you aren't the greatest, and that might be hard to swallow, but you need self belief to do this job, and you have to believe that there will be days when you are on top - when you can prove that the big name driver is human after all, and that you can beat them by playing to your strengths and working hard.
And there's always a chance that we've all been wrong in our assessment of you, and you'll be the one collecting the championship trophy at the end fo the season. Just a chance. Irvine might have done it when Schumacher broke his leg (but he didn't). Rosberg actually managed it against Hamilton. Maybe... just maybe...
