This Dell was my first desktop! I was extremely excited for it. It came as a bundle with some cheapo no name peripherals and a Samsung SyncMaster 19" 5:4 monitor.
It ran Windows 7 Professional for most of its life, as that's what I was used to at the time. However, it was where I got my first start with Linux in late 2016, trying out Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and even daily driving it for a few weeks to a month or so once. I started the Linux journey (so to speak) with this machine and I will always remember it.
It was ruined during cleaning in 2019 or so when I enlisted my dad's help in cleaning the motherboard during a thermal paste refresh, and he decided it would be a good idea to wipe the CPU socket, thus ruining the motherboard. In hindsight, he may have not known (but I seem to remember warning him) that the shiny gold pins should not be touched.
I still have the CPU from this machine, along with all of its RAM and the original Seagate 250GB hard drive, presumably still containing the Windows 7 installation.
The specs below were its final operating configuration.
