I don't know of a good alternative. In any case, Merriam-Webster [1]says that "nonce" is used since the 13th century with the meaning "theone, particular, or present occasion, purpose, or use" - basically thesame as in crypto. Urban Dictionary [2] has a 21st century definition:"British slang for pedophile". Rather than killing the word, I thinkit's better to not allow some new regional slang affect our common useof it.
Having grown up watching the satirical series, Brass Eye...
I looked it up and I like it, thanks!
