building the graph of Gemini

Has anyone ever tried to graph the geminispace? I know there are a bunch of crawlers, but I can't find anything related to building a graph to visualize how geminispace is structured, what clusters it has, etc.

I think it could be a good tool to explore new communities that you haven't seen yet, by traversing the graph.

If I had the gumption I'd set up a crawler myself and walk over the current gemnet, and spray some WD-40 on my very rusty dataviz skills. As it stands, I'm unlikely to have the time and wherewithal to mess with that until sometime in December. By which point I'd bet somebody here's beat me to it.

I am pretty sure it would be possible to get a dump of the crawl database from one of the search engines and create a DOT file based on that

This is kinda-ish what the PageRank-like search engines do, just not in a visual graph but a linear listing, but yeah, this would be an interesting idea.

I can export my search engine data if anyone wants that :)
