Bronziebeats 5Q's for February

gemini://multiverse.thruhere.net/5q/202202-1.gmi

1. If you had to live in an inner-city area for the next 10 years - where would that be, and in what type of domicile.

If I had to do inner city again, Melbourne, somewhere near, in a penthouse apartment with lots of room and views, and well insulated barriers between us and any neighboring apartments. Yes I would never be able to afford that, sans some giant amount of luck.

I don't know if Hobart counts as inner city, but there's some lovely houses there on the waterfront there too.

2. Have you lived in many places, or few? What was your favourite?

I have lived in 7 dwellings, I think my favourite was our Canberra house, at the moment, we're not too long in to our Tasmania house, so we're still working it out, but apart from the spiders (oh my goodness, the spiders), it's going pretty well!

But to actually answer the question, I've lived in Canberra until this year when I moved to some land outside Hobart.

3. What do you love about where you live now?

Bush views, space to build a food forest, solar panels and a workshop, ~10 minute drive to almost every shop we'll need. 15 minute walk to a shop that will do for most things. 10 minute drive to the beach, 20 minute drive to the city (sans traffic)

4. Circumstances force you to move to a place in a historical time for the remainder of your life. Where and when is this?

Oh wow, I've not really thought about this, somewhere after around 1300, so I would still be able to see, that's about when corrective lenses were invented, though, I probably wouldn't be able to afford them! And probably somewhere that speaks a recognisable version of English, which I think pretty much limits me to Enland and surrounds, though I dont' really know enough linguistic history to know!

5. Describe your dream-home. What is your favourite thing about it? Where is it?

It's where I currently am, in Tasmania, and I think it's our current house, but upgraded to be slightly more modern than it's 1970s vintage. A fair bit warmer, with better insulation in the roof and some double glazed windows and doors, the hot water fixed, the kitchen/laundry/bathroom modernised and changed to be more convenient. The garage turned in to a study, the library completed.

I can see it in my mind at the moment, and have started some plan sketches, will be a bit of work and probably a lot of dollars to get there, but I'm privileged enough to be able to do it.
