- sci.virtual-worlds and sci.virtual-worlds-apps, moderated by Bob Jacobson and Mark A. DeLoura, are the main online VR discussions.

- alt.cyberpunk and alt.cyberpunk.tech often concerns topics related to VR, though that is not the focus of the discussions themselves.

America Online:
- The VR discussion on AOL is sponsored by Virtus Corporation and can be found in their directory. To get to the discussion, use the keyword  VIRTUS,and look in the "Let's Discuss" folder.
