Re: "mi li pu. mi li ilo e ilo toki mi."

In: s/tokipona

(pssst, grammar tip: no "li" after "mi" or "sina" on their own)

i struggle to translate it. 'mi pu' means 'i read'? then 'mi ilo e ilo toki me' would mean 'i use talking device of mine'?

You're not the only one, norayr. I get the impression StanStani is new to toki pona (which is good!). The only translation I can come up with is something along the lines of "I read pu. I make my speaking tool into a tool". Would love to know what you were going for, StanStani, so we can give some pointers on what you're missing

@mouseless "I am reading the official Toki Pona book. I am using my phone."

In that case, something like "mi lon ilo toki mi" would work fine for the second sentence :)

"mi pu. mi kepeken ilo toki mi" also works. "ilo e ilo toki mi" is something like "toolify my communication tool"
