[#49] User Certificates Disappeared

On both Windows and Android, today sometime after 5pm CDT, both Lagrange apps removed my certs from the identity menu. I was no longer identified on any gemini sites. On mobile it reappeared after a few minutes, but on desktop it did not. I had to re-import an exported copy I made some time back (whew). Perhaps it would have returned on desktop too, but in the time it took me to track down my exported copy, only mobile had returned my cert to me.

Nothing else got lost. All of my feeds, bookmarks, history, settings, etc. persisted. Just the certificates.

I can't find any log files, where should I look for those so I can send them on?

This is puzzling, however Lagrange never deletes certificate files unless you manually tell it to. Relaunching the app should have reloaded all the existing certificate files from disk.

Did you happen to restart the app on either platform?

Also, does any other program have access to the runtime files (perhaps a sync utility)?

Lagrange does not write log files. On Android, some things get printed to the device logs but I don't think those are persistently saved.

there is no sync app or otherwise that touches those dirs. restarting the desktop app did not bring back the certs. the mobile app had the certs reappear while the app was open and on screen
